Situation: In 2006, BioPointe was engaged by Dexcom, a start-up company and pioneer in continuous blood glucose monitoring (CGM), to recruit a national team of Clinical Support Specialists within a 60 day timeframe. The positions were responsible for providing education and product training to the diabetes marketplace.
Objective: BioPointe’s objective was to identify nurses who were not adverse to frequent overnight travel and had the aptitude to sell when needed.
Action: BioPointe’s talent acquisition team developed a rapid response recruiting program that focused on attracting Certified Diabetes Educators (CDE’s). The team was also charged with developing a value proposition that would yield a high level of interest within CDE networks across the US. In addition, the BioPointe team managed all of the travel arrangements and scheduling logistics for hiring managers and candidates. A team of consultants were deployed to interview locations across the country to assist hiring managers and insure the integrity of the entire recruiting process.
Result: Hired 34 Clinical Support Specialists (all respected CDE’s) in 32 days with a 90%+ retention rate after 24 months of employment. The clinical support team also allowed the sales team to focus on driving product sales which increased profitability. BioPointe also placed several territory managers.
